If you live or work in Blacktown, Andrew’s Mechanical is a short run up Sunnyholt Rd at 3 Goulburn St, Kings Park. Blacktown drivers come to us for logbook servicing, pink slips, brake and suspension work, and proper diagnosis when a warning light comes on. We are an independent workshop, an Authorised Inspection Station for pink slips and an AUVIS station for blue slips, so most of what a Blacktown car needs in a year can be handled in one place.

Getting to us from Blacktown

From the Blacktown CBD, Westpoint or Blacktown station, get onto Sunnyholt Rd at the Richmond Rd end and head north. Stay on Sunnyholt Rd until Vardys Rd, then turn left into Vardys Rd and follow it west through the Kings Park industrial area towards Marayong station. Goulburn St is in the small pocket of streets beside the station, near the Marayong Hotel.

Outside peak hour the drive from the CBD is about 8 minutes. If you are already on Vardys Rd, you are only a couple of minutes away. Marayong station is a few minutes’ walk from the workshop, and it is the first stop north of Blacktown on the Richmond line, so the train is an easy way back to the CBD.

Common jobs for Blacktown cars

  • Brakes and suspension – Sunnyholt Rd, Richmond Rd and the streets around the CBD are stop-start for much of the day, with sets of lights close together. Constant braking from 60 km/h wears pads and rotors faster than open-road driving. If you hear squealing, feel a pulse through the pedal or the car pulls to one side, bring it in for a check.
  • Logbook and general servicing – Short trips between home, school, work and Westpoint mean many engines rarely get fully warm. That is hard on oil, batteries and exhaust components. We service to your manufacturer’s logbook schedule and tell you plainly about anything worth keeping an eye on.
  • Pink slips and blue slips – Most light vehicles more than five years old need a safety check (pink slip) each year before rego can be renewed in NSW. If a car has been unregistered for more than three months, or has come from interstate, it needs an AUVIS inspection (blue slip) instead. We do both.
  • Pre-purchase inspections – Plenty of used cars change hands around Blacktown, privately and through dealers. An independent inspection before you hand over money tells you what you are actually buying, and what it may need soon.
  • Air conditioning – Blacktown is well inland and summer days run hotter than on the coast. Sitting in traffic on Sunnyholt Rd with a weak air conditioner is no fun. We check for leaks, regas systems and repair compressors and condensers.
  • Fleet and business vehicles – Blacktown is a commercial hub, and plenty of local businesses run utes and vans. We service fleet and business vehicles so they stay on the road and on schedule.

Blacktown FAQs

How far is the workshop from the Blacktown CBD?

About 8 minutes outside peak hour. Head north on Sunnyholt Rd from Richmond Rd, turn left into Vardys Rd and follow it towards Marayong station. Peak-hour traffic on Sunnyholt Rd can add to that, so allow extra time in the morning and afternoon.

My Blacktown rego renewal says I need a safety check. Can you do it?

Yes. We are an Authorised Inspection Station, so we can carry out the pink slip inspection your renewal notice asks for. The report has to be used to renew your rego within six months, so you can book it any time in the 6 months before your renewal.

Do you work on 4WDs, diesels, European cars and LPG vehicles?

Yes. As well as everyday sedans, hatches and SUVs, we work on European, 4WD and diesel vehicles and carry out LPG installation and servicing. Give us a call with the make and model and we will talk you through it.
